James Hardee McDade
Dec. 30, 1925 - May 1, 2007
Jim was born in Tacoma, Wash., Dec. 30, 1925, and passed away at Kaiser
Hospital, Roseville, Calif., May I, 2007.
He lived for many years in San Francisco where he attended High School. After
leaving school Jim served in the Merchant Marines for 3 years and then joined
the San Francisco Fire Dept. in 1947.In 1951. he was called into the Army and
spent 2 years in Korea. After being honorably discharged he returned to the
S.F.F.D. Jim met his wife Norma in 1954 and they married in 1956. He retired
from the S.F.F.D. as a Lieutenant in 1977 after 30 years service.
The family moved from Marin County to EI Dorado in 1977. Jim played softball
with the Placerville Prospectors for many years and was a member of the Mother
Lode Lions. He was an avid fisherman and card player.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Virginia McDade; brother,
Donald McDade; and sister, Dorothy Eustice. He is survived by his wife, Norma;
sons Jamie (Alicia) of Placerville, Calif.; Bruce of Sacramento, Calif.;
grandsons, Sean and Patrick; granddaughter, Taylor of Placerville, Calif.;
sister, Shirley Eliasen (Jim) of Placerville, Calif.; niece, Rena Williams
(John) of El Dorado Hills; nephew, William Goodwin of Livermore, Calif.; and
great nieces and nephews.
At his request no services will be held.
